Senior Kate Griffith Wins Sallie Mae "Bridging the Dream" Scholarship

On Thursday, November 30, at the Cambria All-County Band rehearsal in the Bishop McCort High School Auditorium, Liz Robinson, the Sallie Mae Team Leader, announced that Kate Griffith was the winner of the $25,000 “Bridging the Dream” Scholarship.  The looks on Kate and her dad Scott’s faces were priceless when the announcement was made.

Susan Dixon, High School Guidance Counselor, had this to say about Kate as part of her recommendation for the scholarship: "Kate is so deserving of the "Bridging the Dream" Scholarship.  She is an exemplary student academically and is very involved in extracurricular and co-curricular activities.  Her character is beyond reproach and the story surrounding the untimely passing of her mom and her subsequent resilience around her loss, is nothing short of inspiring."

We are very proud of Kate for this amazing accomplishment!
