As a part of Mr. Duman's 5th Grade Musical Theater unit, the students worked very from October to December finishing different elements of this unit. They started by discussing what musical theater was in class and the importance that it has on our students in Central Cambria School District. Mr. Duman brought in some guests to teach the students areas of musical theater such as a skilled director that worked with them on stage management, stage direction, and acting. The children even acted out a scene with the director. They also had guests from the HS musical come in and teach our 5th grade a watered down version of the dance from the opening number of this year's show "Thoroughly Modern Millie." These 5th graders are GREAT dancers!
Mrs. Davis and Mr. Duman teamed up on this project a bit and she taught the students all about costuming. They were given scenes and created costumes that fit those scenes. Mrs. Davis has a lot of experience in this area and was able to achieve amazing results. The costume projects are also displayed on tables and they look amazing!
