St. Francis Presents R.O.C.K. Program

On Wednesday, December 14 2016, the R.O.C.K. team from Saint Francis University came to present one of their programs to Mr. Wagner’s Chemistry classes.  R.O.C.K. stands for Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids.  This year, their hands-on approach involved dry ice.  Mr. Wagner’s students learned about the properties of dry ice, including sublimation, along with its practical uses.  The students were able to enjoy a tasty sample of root beer at the end of the experiment in which the dry ice was used to carbonate the beverage.  Mr. Wagner and his students absolutely loved their experience with the R.O.C.K. team and would like to thank the R.O.C.K. team for coming in to present.  They would also like to thank Mrs. McDermott and Mr. Paronish for allowing such an amazing event to occur.
